Synopsis
Camille and Damien are both trapped—in marriages that have quietly grown cold, in routines drained of passion, in lives they barely recognize. Friends by circumstance, they never imagined the quiet spark that would ignite between them. Small gestures, lingering glances, and stolen moments build into an intoxicating yet dangerous attraction, threatening to unravel everything they've known.
NOTE:
The PDF edition includes an exclusive Afterthought section—where hidden symbolism is decoded, spiritual parallels are revealed, and subconscious themes are brought to light. These reflections invite you to go deeper into the story and uncover the parts of your soul that may have been whispering back the entire time.
I felt a deep discomfort, almost like I was cheating in some way. I would’ve completely missed the point if it weren’t for the explanation after the story.
And that’s surprising—because I’m someone who used to build and prolong that kind of tension ever since I started having relationships.
It would begin with flirting, “sticky eyes,” then a smile, then text messages, then a meeting, the anticipation of a kiss, the kiss—and that would be the end.
Later, as I matured, the end would come after sex. The tension would disappear, and with it, my enthusiasm. I would finally see the person for who they really were—not the idealized version I had painted in my mind.
This story reminded me that if I ever feel that kind of tension again, it doesn’t mean I need to betray my husband—or leave him.
It also doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with me.
The story was beautifully written. The voice was captivating, and the diction—perfect.
